Labor Day Potluck: Thanks for a Full Table and a Full Park
The grill was going before most people got here, and it did not stop.
Monday's Labor Day potluck turned into one of those afternoons that reminds us why we built this place the way we did. Hot dogs on the grill under the bark zone mural. A folding table that somehow kept producing more food every time we looked at it — stuffed mushrooms, pasta salad, a spread of sides that nobody planned and everybody contributed to. Dogs running loops in the background while their people actually sat down and ate something.
That's the whole idea. A dog park where you can hang around long enough to be hungry.
Thank you to everyone who showed up with a dish. Genuinely — you fed the entire park.
What made it work
Potlucks are the easiest events we run and somehow always the best ones. Nobody's performing. There's no schedule to keep. People bring what they're good at making, the dogs sort themselves out, and a few hours disappear.

Wagbar is an off-leash dog park and bar in North Asheville. Humans get in free — you don't even need to bring a dog. Dogs need to be six months or older, spayed or neutered, and current on rabies, distemper (DHPP), and bordetella.
Come hungry next time.
